What is SFA Camping Retreat?

Spirit Filled Adventures is a Holy Spirit–led outdoor retreat designed to bring people out of their everyday routines and into a place of divine encounter, personal transformation, and spiritual activation — surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation.
It’s not just “camping with devotions.” It’s a journey of worship, teaching, prophetic experience, and community — where every activity (from hiking to campfires) becomes an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to move.
A Camping Adventure creates sacred space — away from technology, distractions, and noise — where people can truly hear God’s voice. It mirrors the biblical pattern: God often met His people outdoors — in tents, mountains, deserts, gardens, and rivers.
“Moses entered the tent of meeting to speak with the Lord face to face.” — Exodus 33:11
Every campsite becomes an altar of encounter. The firepit symbolizes the altar of the heart, where the Holy Spirit rekindles passion.
Unlike traditional retreats, this adventure focuses on the active presence of the Holy Spirit — His gifts, His voice, and His transforming fire.
Participants expect and experience:
- Salvation and recommitment to Jesus
- Baptism in the Holy Spirit and empowerment
- Healing — physical, emotional, and spiritual
- Deliverance from bondage or fear
- Activation in spiritual gifts (prophecy, discernment, tongues, etc.)
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.” — Acts 1:8
The adventure uses the outdoors as a classroom for spiritual lessons.
Every natural element becomes a prophetic picture:
- The mountain represents ascending into God’s presence.
- The river or lake symbolizes cleansing and refreshing.
- The fire represents purification and the Spirit’s power.
- The path or trail represents walking in obedience and faith.
Outdoor experiences — hiking, team challenges, or “silent walks” — become metaphors for the Christian journey. Spirit-filled camping isn’t an individual experience alone — it’s a shared encounter.
The camp builds family through:
- Group worship under the stars
- Campfire testimonies
- Shared meals and laughter
- Prayer circles and prophetic encouragement
“When they were all together in one accord… the Holy Spirit came.” — Acts 2:1
Many participants come to these retreats burned out, weary, or disconnected.
The natural setting plus the presence of God brings:
- Rest for the soul
- Emotional and spiritual healing
- A renewed sense of purpose
- Reconnection to God’s voice
Each session, prayer walk, and prophetic act is intentional — designed to help campers:
- Lay down old burdens
- Receive new fire (anointing and Spirit baptism)
- Step into calling
It’s a hands-on, heart-on-fire discipleship model.
Every Spirit-Filled Camping Adventure ends with a “Go and Tell” moment — sending participants home as revival carriers. They leave not just refreshed, but reignited, equipped to:
- Pray for others,
- Lead in their churches,
- Witness boldly, and
- Live daily in the fire of the Spirit.
“The Lord will continually guide you, and satisfy your soul in scorched places.” — Isaiah 58:11

Oct 2-5, 2025
This was our third annual camp retreat, and we had a wonderful time fellowshipping with our brothers and sisters in Christ—many of whom traveled from other states to join us. It was truly a powerful and refreshing experience as we encountered the presence of God together.

Sept 26-29, 2024
Even a hurricane couldn't stop what God was doing! Spirit Fiilled Adventures camping retreat continued as we relocated to a hotel for two nights (Thursday and Friday), and His presence followed us there. Through worship, prayer, and fellowship, we saw that no storm can stop God's people from praising His name. We returned to Moravian Falls Campground on Saturday and stayed for a night without power and water, but nothing stopped us from worshipping our Lord.

Sept 21-24, 2023
This was our first year hosting the camp retreat, and it was an incredible time of fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. On the final day, we had the special opportunity to worship together with hearing believers from Greensboro, North Carolina. The weekend was truly a blessing and a beautiful reminder of God’s presence among us.
